I am curious to hear how the ticket sales to the bowl game are coming along? I just got mine and wanted to know how much of our allotment we have sold and how it compares to the last two years. I imagine better than the Hawaii Bowl, but worse than the Armed Forces Bowl. Anyone in the know?

I just bought my tickets a moment ago and I believe we are up to 381 tickets sold through the SMU ticket office.

I predict 1,000 fans for SMU. Just like Hawaii.

Does that count internet sales only or is that number for total sales?

This will just reinforce that in fact there is a legitimate basis for June Jones to consider other schools-I actually am on June Jones' side of that part of the debate. Sorry you guys that want to offer excuse after excuse for our fanbase are incredible naive. You want to be Big Time nobody cares about the excuses-they want to know why the hell do so few fans support the program. Why are season ticket sales so low? Why do so few season ticket holders even bother to show up for games they already paid for. Why have season ticket sales gone down in the last two years even when SMU has enjoyed some success. Why is there no plan to fix the problem.

So we are supposed to go flocking to buy tickets after he dissed us?

WE ALL KNOW WE HAVE AN ATTENDANCE PROBLEM. QUIT PREACHING TO THE CHOIR.

Going to the bowl game has nothing to do with June Jones. I don't even care about necessarily supporting the team given their lackluster showing the second half of the season! I do think it is important to support SMU. Come on SMU show some pride! It is really embarassing for those of us who do show up (including Jones and the team) when you look around in the stands and see that so few of us do show up. A bowl game puts a spotlight on your university and its fans more than any other game in the season. While my vision for SMU is more as a made for tv product than an actual in-person experience given the numbers game, I do think that fan attendance at a bowl game is crucial to the development of the program. As angry as I was at June Jones for the saga he put us through I can excuse him as he is a mercenary whereas our alums and fans are SMU!

Maybe if we made limited edition bowl tickets, that are metal, with a key-chain, that would look fashionable on a Louis Vuitton purse.
