I will be glad to change my plans and attend- STLhockey- just x-fer 5k to my bank account to cover the airfare and travel expenses. I am sure I am not the only one that can't make a trip to B'ham because of the distance and expenses involved. Glad we are in our 3rd bowl game.

GO PONIES!!!

$5k? Cost should really not be a factor unless you have a family of 4+

Airfare $300
Hotel $100 for 2 nights probably if you split a room with someone
Ticket to game $20
Food and drink $50 - $100
Total of about $500 give or take if you really wanted to go. Probably save another $100 if you drive out there.

We'll just send the private jet to Peru to pick him up. No worries. Do you prefer a thursday or friday pick-up?

How about 80$ to just buy two tickets? We're talking tickets sold, not people going.

Stl hockey- accurate est. is $5540. Airfare for two is $4000. Sorry I don't have an Amphicar so that I could drive there. Hope you enjoy the game. I honestly thought about the Hawaii trip but airfare for 2 was almost 6k. Unfortunately my LHT (long haired translator) is tired of my taking trips solo so my next trips must be a compromise.

My 2 week trip to Nicaragua in February is cheaper than the BBVA bowl.

Would be interesting to find the people who screamed for a mainland bowl and who aren't going. But I don't feel like searching through past threads.
Redpony has a valid excuse. :)

Skysc- thanks for the pass. I really wish I could be there, and yes I was one who wanted a 'mainland' based game. I had hoped it would be in Dallas so that I could visit family but didn't turn out that way. Unfortunately, airfares have gone throught the roof. Two years ago I paid $740 for r/t Lima to Dallas. Last fall it was closer to $1600. I hope all that make it to the game enjoy a great Mustang victory.

Where is Mr. Pony anyway? He has not posted in a while.

I feel that everyone on here would go if possible. Had we played today in the AFB game, my family would have been there. Sadly, next weekend is not an option. We will be watching so I guess we'll be doing our part to help w/ratings. Those of you who will be there must be loud and have enough fun representing those of us watching.

Again, I'm talking about simply buying tickets. According to Mr. Lifeson, we have SOLD about 700 of our allotment, no? It looks really bad to not sell anything and not have anyone go. It looks less really bad to sell all your tickets and not have anyone go. It looks least bad to sell all your tickets and have everyone go. I'm talking about simply purchasing tickets to help the numbers which is why I bought more than I need.

Clearly, we aren't going to wind up with the least bad. Unless some weird magic happens over the next week, we aren't going to wind up with the less really bad either, since we've sold about 700 tickets. Looks like we'll wind up with a most really bad, not selling any tickets, not having anyone going, and spending another Saturday as the butt end of jokes for hollow, bitter, lonely sportswriters in the blog-o-sphere.

I'm just pretty much [deleted] for the sake of [deleted] now.
