I will not make age an issue in this campaign. I'm not going to exploit for political purposes my opponent's youth and inexperience.

From the NJ Star Ledger: http://www.nj.com/rutgersfootball/index.ssf/2012/05/john_marinatto_big_east_commis.html

One quote I found really interesting: "The story [from CBSSports.com] reports that the league's presidents asked Marinatto to resign on Sunday."
"The art of war is simple enough. Find out where your enemy is. Get at him as soon as you can. Strike him as hard as you can, and keep moving on." - Ulysses S. Grant

The league presidents voted and wanted a new fresh face in front of the BE when they negotiate the new TV contract and as they all enter a new era and asked him to resign...he did a good job for what he had to do at the time and what he had to work with and by NO means signals a negative connotation for the BE. Quite frankly it's a positive spin, so all the debbie downers need to back off again.
New freshly engaged candidates will emerge this week.

Looks to me as an outsider looking in that the old days of the conference commissioners just participating in golf tournaments and doing some back-slapping and keeping the biggest football revenue producers happy are gone. they have to be polished salesmen or women who must have great negotiating skills for the big money tv deals and be innovative in keeping conferences together.

Fresh face and energy needed as CFB goes through big transition post-BCS. Hopefully a good choice will be made.

Its kindof wierd but at the end of the day it doesnt matter.

The Big East will get a nice TV deal and despite no AQ will still get more of the pie than the fail conferences.

Orsini is a winner.
Trey was using the powers of Gamehendge to allow the show to continue, to give the band the strength it needed to help break through this barrier

CBS article claiming Marinatto was a scapegoat for school presidents who failed to agree on a tv deal in time.

He is definitely the fall guy. He isn't totally to blame but he was a big part of the problem.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. He didn't do enough to strengthen the conference when it needed to be done. TCU was too little too late.
