True, you can tell he's a type-A, largely joyless workaholic that probably keeps an enemies list.

Lol. This is probably pretty accurate. But I don't think GP is joyless. I'd think he'd had burned out like Myer years ago if GP didn't find some joy in his job.

I didn't say it wasn't a fact, just why would a "ponyfan" pee on his own team to support another team?

It didn't look like that poster was "peeing" on SMU, it was just a comparison of facts in which the SMU representative didn't fare well.

This thread topic wasn't about comparing our coach to thier coach, it was about

fatterson looking like a purple blimp.

Patterson is a great coach but he looked like a whiny little kid after the SMU loss. Sometimes you just have to say that the other team came out and kicked your tail and you did not have the team prepared. That whole bit about not helping SMU anymore was very strange.

It helps when the guys before you (Franchione and Sullivan) take a bunch of the losses in the turnaround effort.

Keep in mind...JJ was saddled with a 1-10 season - Patterson never had to deal with that 1-10 year at TCU.

Franchione never had a losing record at TCU

At the risk of starting holy wars, June to an extent saddled himself with that record by electing to go with a true freshman surrounded by a small amount of talent from day one.

It's just an awful magazine cover, no matter who the coach is in it.

If the point is to illustrate "change" and TCU moving to the Big 12, why isn't there a Big 12 logo anywhere in the photo with Patterson?

Second, nobody cares about coaches. Football is played by players. Players move fast and run into things. A static, posed shot of a coach is about as boring as you can get when your objective is to evoke excitement about the coming season.

I think the editors of DCTF got caught up in trying to match their theme and forgot to come up with an eye-catching cover. Four pictures of coaches and no players? Are there no standout players left in the Big 12?

Arkies need to get over themselves. It's not even one of the best jobs in its division, much less it's conference, much much less the nation.

Arkansas is a good job but probably barely Top 20 job-biggest problem is that it doesn't have a strong in-state recruiting pool like UT, USC, Florida, FSU, Ohio St. Michigan, LSU, Georgia, Penn St. Other better jobs OU, ND, Nebraska, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn. Miami (although that might change). With Nike support you'd have to consider Oregon too.

Made a big mistake leaving the SWC. Texas is where their recruits came from and now no one here really cares. I wonder if the same might be true of A&M after this year's beatings. Yeah, they are doing well today (recruiting), but a .500 record might set them back for 10 years. The Aggies made a bad choice in firing their coach, a bad choice in hiring Sumlin and a worse choice leaving the Big 12. Only Rick and the A&M president were supportive of the move, and we know Rick is an idiot.
