Since Iowa St and Kansas have not played it is too early to judge them but hope you are right because it would be a bad reflection on SMU if you are wrong. But we will see as the season goes on.

Wasn't Texas around a 30+ favorite? I can only imagine the grumbling already starting in UT land.

I hate to say this but Tech did not impress me. We missed a good opportunity to beat them.

Tech will find a way to Bowl Game.

Tech will be bottom 4 (I'm sure they'll find a way to six wins...). Don't sleep on KU. With around 20 added Jucos, five star transfer QB Jake Heaps looking great in practice, and what most will argue is the best running back core in the Big 12, they're going to win some games. Many point to KU's 1-11 record last year, but most of those games were actually very close.
Pony up!

Texas Tech may be better than I thought they were. I knew they would be stronger. TT always has good strong off and def lines. But I didn't expect a freshman quarterback to destroy our defense. Also, one of the reasons SMU didn't score more then they did (with as much offense production) was Tech did a tremendous job on special teams. It seemed to me that SMU usually started behind their twenty five on drives...several times inside the 20. Their punter was great (however, he had one really bad punt). Tech defensive backs were strong and did a decent job on coverage - which indicated to me that Gilbert was very sharp. Speaking of Gilbert, he played magnificently. There were some dropped passes - one that probably would have gone for big yards; yet he still put big numbers on the board. Field position was the big difference in the game. Had we picked a pass or ran some punts back a few yards the score might have been in SMU's favor. It will be interesting to see how Tech does against other teams. I also think they will go to a bowl.

I think Tech might win 4 of their 6 home games and already have a road win against SMU, so they could get bowl eligible by beating either Kansas or West Virginia on the road. They will need to improve a lot
