We're giving up what $17 Million per year. Stanford and Cal combined are giving up another $17 Million a year. That's $34 Million in addition to the bonus pool. If money was placed into the bonus pool, you'd have up to $11 to split among 3 teams, plus the bonus pool. I might add that joining the SEC means that Florida and South Carolina don't drop a blackball on their in state brothers. Also, adding two schools will cost each existing school $8 Million. We know diva Texas is not going to like that. Suddenly the numbers would begin to blend. The Big Ten is at 18 schools. So, the pain would be $7 Million per school. Add in their snobbery on academics and FSU/Clemson would fail. So, let's say that these schools if they left would get $63 Million each. They'd have to pay to leave, somewhere northward of $300 Million. It would take them at least 5 years to earn that back. On the other hand if equitable distribution occurred in the ACC based on TV viewership, instead of getting $50 Million per year schools like FSU/Clemson got $60 Million per year why leave? Also, Clemson had net losses in the transfer portal, their NIL appears to be uncompetitive. So, they may be dropping back in the pack with a young team. If Clemson has a bad year again, their lawsuit will look ridiculous even to Clemson fans. Obviously, this is in the hands of TV suits and we'll see how it plays out. DISNEY/ABC/ESPN are hemorrhaging.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

If Clemson and Florida State jump ship to the SEC or Big 10, who's to say those conferences won't do to them what the ACC did to Cal, Stanford and SMU — make them forego money for a few years while earning their spot?

I know those schools think they deserve Georgia/Ohio State/Bama money, but they might find it's not readily available.

UNC appears to be the linchpin of the ACC. Lots of politics and issues going on with their board, AD, state, etc. It's clear some folks want to depart the ACC and others don't, or aren't willing to go public with that.

FSU and Clemson want out badly and they will eventually.

Phillips might be better than Kliavkoff...hopefully better lawyers. Fingers crossed.

Guess the SMU strategy is to remain close to BC, Wake, Cuse, CalFord. Could get really ugly if ACC crumbles.

Need to keep winning football games.
