Joesph Bissinger is coming home to Texas
6-4, 297 lb 3-star OT from Houston (Memorial) is transferring to the Mustangs. Looks like a graduate transfer, as he's been a Cavalier for 4 years.
AT VIRGINIA 2020– Appeared in all 10 of UVA’s games with three starts … made first collegiate start at left guard against Abilene Christian following the season-ending injury to Dillon Reinkensmeyer … started the last three games of the season at left guard … part of an offensive line that ranked No. 1 in the ACC and No. 12 in the nation in tackles for loss allowed (4.2), while also ranking No. 2 in the ACC with 2.0 sacks allowed a game. 2019 – Appeared in 11 of UVA’s 14 games … has seen time at right and left guard, in addition to special teams … has helped block for quarterback Bryce Perkins, one of two quarterbacks in the nation with 3,000+ passing yards and 700+ rushing yards. 2018 – Did not appear in any games … redshirted season.

Landrum Award, which is awarded to the best offensive lineman in Spring Branch ISD … team went 3-6 his senior season with two games canceled due to Hurricane Harvey and 2-8 as a junior … team qualified for district playoffs in 2015 … named to Houston Chronicle’s Top-100 High School Football Recruits list … was first player from Spring Branch Independent School District to commit to a Division I program for his class … named to the Houston Touchdown Club 2017 UIL All-Preseason team … academic all-state honorable mention … team captain as a senior … on Dave Campbell’s Texas Top 300 Super Team … Vype Houston Top 100 … squat record holder (600 pounds) at Memorial High School … 1,000 pound Club Record Holder (1,535) at Memorial High School … member of the National Honor Society … son of Dave and Meg Bissinger … has three brothers, Mike, Luke and Ben … great grandfather, Lysso Coco, played football at Spring Hill College in Alabama … enjoys weight lifting and fishing … community activities include Memorial Young Life and St. Cecilia Catholic Church “LifeTeen” … is rated a three-star recruit by ESPN.com, 247Sports.com and a two-star recruit by Rivals.com … major is government … recipient of the 2021-2022 Virginia McDowell Bowen Scholarship for Football.

Late bloomer. Nice to add a more physically mature guy to the roster when there are so many seniors moving on

He and Osborne should really help solidify the guard positions but we really need Thomas back and for Ike, Robinson & Perdue to step up as tackles. OL will definitely be an area to watch in spring ball.
