Not at all. I like Larry Brown, and I was responding to the person who said that Larry is the type of person who leaves in a few years. That's true - but I think he'd leave SMU after a few years not for another job, but to retire.
I don't think that would be a bad thing, if he had someone learning under him ready to take the reins when he did leave. And I would think that we would want him to leave after only a few years, because in basketball, as one ages, they become less able to relate to recruits.
Realism? Yes. Ageism? No...but I can see how it would be taken that way.
I do think there are better candidates for the job out there. They are younger than Larry Brown, but that's not the primary reason why I think they are better candidates.
