Lanier is just not a good coach. Can’t hold on to leads - constantly fading down the end of games. Will be a tough year next year in the ACC.

I would say none since apparently we do not know how to get a comfortable lead

Don't know if it would have made any difference but Williamson played less than 4 minutes and Wright less than 3 minutes in a game we needed all hands on deck. We saw Wright get hurt but not sure what happened with Williamson. Tough way for him to end his college career. What a difference having a talented big guy in the middle can make. We did a pretty good job taking Avila out of this game as he shot only 2-10 and was 0-4 from three but he drew 7 fouls, went 9-9 on his FTs and dished out 7 assists. We tried but could not foul him out of this game. Lots of fouls called in this game as these refs did not let the game get as physical as we might have been more accustomed to in AAC play. In a game where we probably needed to play more zone to protect our guys, Avila is the X-factor in trying to go zone against a big who can score and sees the floor well enough to dish out assists. ISU has several good 3 point shooters and they can really spread the floor. We need more help for Phelps and Harris, no question about it.

Why did Samuell Williamson only play 3:50 in his final college game?

Seems like a fantastic young man, and whether or not his shot was falling, he always seemed to lay it on the line for the team.

Hope he does well in the future.

The one spot on the floor Williamson shot a decent percentage from was within about 10-12 feet in the paint which we really could have used to help break ISU's zone. I didn't notice him going out early with an injury so really don't know why he didn't see more playing time in that game

Maybe Lanier was resting him for the next game?
