If we can win out the rest of the way in CUSA, or even tie the last game with Tulsa, we'll probably get an NCAA bid regardless of whether we win the CUSA tournament.

Actually the schedule is 10/21/05 at Tulsa (FOX Soccer Channel) Tulsa, Okla. 7:00 PM ,10/28/05 at East Carolina Greenville, N.C.
and 10/30/05 at South Carolina Columbia, S.C. These are all games we should win but who knows in soccer.

Well, we are still unranked in the Soccer America poll and ranked 22nd in the coaches poll that Shellas votes on. The #11 ranking is in the USA Today poll. I agree that even if we lose in the conference USA tournament, we will get a bid. We are a much better team than at the beginning of the season and getting better every game.

The poll considered by the NCAA when tournament bids are handed out is the adidas/NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches of America Association) poll. We're No. 11, which puts us in very good shape, considering where we started.

Would anyone else like to see another matchup with Cal -- coached by former SMU All-America Kevin Grimes -- as much as I would? (As long as we get to host again, of course....)

The win tonight against Tulsa on television ought to help. Coming from behind to win in the last two minutes was awesome. The announcers were just giddy about how good SMU played.

Have not been able to follow the team as much as I would have liked - what is with the resurgence after a difficult start?

We have a young team and Hyndeman scheduled four or five matches early against really tough competition: Akron, New Mexico, Indiana, Notre Dame, Loyola Marymount. They got battle hardened real fast and now are taking care of bidness in CUSA. This is an example of how scheduling tough teams can make you better.
