I do not understand how players who have played the highest levels of youth soccer at the national and international level would be surprised at the speed and physical demands of the college game.
I believe DIV I soccer teams have around 10 scholarships to divide up among players. Of course, many players also get academic and other kinds of partial scholarships as well. I wonder how many players on the current team are true walkons without any scholarship aid and how many are getting a full soccer scholarship.
