vs Maryland Game Thread

Postby Mustangs35SMU » Thu Dec 08, 2005 8:50 pm

Won't be here for the start of the game but thought I would start the game thread a little early anyways.

For some reason I'm already nervous.

Well, technically we aren't at Maryland - it's a neutral site.

It's OK to be nervous. Maryland is, after all, the #1 team in the country. They are LOADED.
But hey, I thought the same thing about UCLA and UNC, too. AND LOOK WHERE THEY ARE NOW!

Cary, NC: Abundant sunshine. High 44F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph.

"Abundant" sunshine? What kind of weather forecast is that? :o

If it makes you feel any better, our best scorer (Hashimto) has 29 goals compared to the turtles' best scorer (Garey) with 20.
Everything we want is on the other side of difficult.

Not to rain on your parade, but Hashimoto has 11 goals ... and 29 POINTS (two points for each goal, plus one point each for seven assists). Garey might be the best forward in the country. But Jay Needham took Hunter out of the UNC game, and hopefully will do the same with Garey today.

Yeah it is always fun to read that the Maryland is averaging 2.75 goals a game.

This is a juggernaught...but we can do it.

Yeah, but UCLA hadn't given up a goal at home all year, and we ran them off their field in the second round.

Go Mustangs!
