Hey, something called "ice dancing" is an Olympic "sport," too, which proves that just because something is in the Olympics does NOT make it a big deal.

Very good point. You can cite as further evidence:
* Snowboarding
* Any figure skating
* That freestyle skiing
* Damn-near any winter Olympic sport other than hockey
* Synchronized swimming
* Synchronized diving
* Rhythmic gymnastics
* Hell .... ANY gymnastics
* Team handball

You're right, ski jumping can be exciting, although I don't know that it's any more of a sport than driving on Central Expressway. When's the last time anyone noticed a non-Olympic ski jumping resul?
Now I'm worried about you. You WATCHED curling?

On a biz trip to Finland I got to party with the Finnish women's curling team. Those girls were not bad on the eyes at all. That was a few years back so I'm sure the team has changed.
I couldn't watch that "sport" even if you paid me, especially on television.

I actually watched curling on a trip to Canada a few years ago. The competitors were drinking beer and chain-smoking .... officially rendering it to non-sport status (see "bowling").

Not sure about the chain-smoking, but i think you can render beer drinking a sport until you lose your coordination.............

There is. All-nude, black and white photos of girls from about 6 different teams. I thought it was a joke when I heard about it so I looked it up.

This afternoon, Rick Reilly of S.I. called Dan Patrick on his radio show, and during his long-winded "report" from the Olympics, he did make it sound like the U.S. women's curling team has some .... talent.

We need to keep adding women's sports to get under Title IX, I was wondering if it was going to be bowling or field hockey. But curling's kind of a mixture between bowling, housecleaning and shuffleboard.
