Womens soccer player Autumn Browning has tranferred to USF


Autumn Browning, former Florida 6A State Player of the Year transfers from SMU to USF. Will be eligible as a junior.

2005: Saw action in all 22 SMU Mustang games playing in Conference USA. Season also including playing in the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament losing to Texas A&M in the second round match. Had five goals and 1 assist on the season.

2004: Saw action in all 22 games, including 21 starts...recorded five goals and five assists (fifth-most on the team) on 29 shots...scored two goals vs. Nevada. SMU were WAC conference champs. Team qualified for the NCAA Championships losing in the first round to West Virginia.

High School: Four-year starter at Winter Park H.S ( H.S. team was state finalist losing in PK to eventual state champions)...three-time All-State selection and four-time All-District, and All-Conference selection...member of the FACA Senior All-Star team...scored a career mark of 119 goals and 56 assists (294 points)...inducted into the Winter Park H.S. Female Hall of Fame...member of the 2003 Superclub National Champions with the CSA All-Stars...6A state Player of the Year...Florida ODP Region III member and starter since 1999.

That's awful news. Autumn is a terrific player.
Perhaps she saw the writing on the wall, though, in terms of playing time. The Ponies already have three other talented forwards -- Krystal Bailey, Kimber Bailey and Jena Lund -- and just signed a forward from St. Louis who's supposed to be terrific, too.

I believe her transfer was centered more on a "closer-to-home" desire rather than a crowded roster situation.
