Cameron Holm, Men's soccer commit

Postby mustangbill67 » Wed Feb 08, 2006 2:41 pm

Cameron Holm makes 5 known soccer commits but I know of only one confirmed signed letter of intent. Schellas will probably announce his entire class when it is complete. So far all good players but only one commit, Leone Cruz, with top national credentials. We are keeping our Hawaii connection in tack. A nice recruiting trip.

Hawaii Baptist Academy soccer standout Cameron Holm has orally committed to play at Southern Methodist next season.
Holm was also recruited by Penn State despite missing part of last year due to injury. Holm is not playing this season due to the ILH outside-participation (club) rule.
As a sophomore, he led the Interscholastic League of Honolulu in scoring with 11 goals. He was voted to the All-ILH first team by coaches.
Holm will be a midfielder for an SMU squad that advanced to the NCAA final four last year.

These Hawaiian kids have really been outstanding for us. Keep the Bonzai Pipeline open.

Jaime Benitez of Carrollton Creekview is committed, too. Excellent player.

Of the 5 known commits, Jaime Benitez is the only one the DMN has announced as having signed a letter. Nothing on the SMU website that I can find. Hopefully we are in the hunt for another big time national player.
Several other of the national college soccer powers have not announced their signees to date either. Considerably less public recruiting info available than football and basketball.

For the record, you won't see anything on the SMU site until the class is complete and all are signed. Schools are prohibited from publicizing their high-school recruits until everything is official.
