Nick Courtney Signs With Wake Forest Men's Soccer

March 23, 2006

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest head coach Jay Vidovich has announced the addition of Nick Courtney to the Demon Deacons 2006 recruiting class. The group already included three National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas All-Americans, five adidas/Elite Soccer Program (ESP) participants and two state Players of the Year.

"Nick is an outstanding addition to our incoming class for next fall," said Vidovich. "He possesses great quickness, size, mobility and skill which will serve him well playing in the back for us. He is a quality defender with an attitude to match."

Probably just wanted to go away to school. I have a friend in Plano whose daughter had two scholarship offers to SMU and none to Wake Forest. SMU cost $35,000 a year and Wake cost $36,000 (his numbers not mine.) The scholarship offers that she had at SMU would have paid for a year of school. She, of course, chose Wake Forest to get away from the nest. My friend's wife was hacked because it cost her a new Lexus!

And we also do not know with regard to Courtney how much of a financial ride he was offered by Wake as compared to SMU.
