Smith's Eorupean venture that cost him his eligibility was nothing short of a monster braincramp. He should be getting ready for his senior season. Ramon Nuñez is becoming a significant player for FC Dallas, and Kenny Cooper (who signed with SMU before jumping overseas for a pro contract) is, too. Put those three in the lineup with the players we have coming back, and I can only assume the NSCAA would have SMU as the preseason No. 1 team in the nation.

Schellas has done a great job in consistently holding on to a core of great players. With lax college soccer transfer rules and the availability of pro jobs both in the US and internationally, that is the best you can hope for. SMU men traditionally compete at the highest level in college soccer. One of these years, it will be our turn for the ring.
