Postby mustangbill67 » Fri Aug 25, 2006 11:16 pm

SMU beat Wisconsin 1-0 in the 8th minute of OT in Tulsa. Winning goal by top rated freshman Leone Cruz with an assist by Jeff Harwell. The game recap reflects that Schellas played 20 players off his 32 man roster in the game. The only players to play the full 98 minutes were goalkeeper, Matt Wideman (Sanbo continues to be injured), defender, Mynor Gonzales and mid fielder/defender, Jay Needham. Midfielder Bruno Guarda played 89 minutes. The recap reflects that SMU dominated the game at least in shots taken.

Sounds like Coach Hyndman is following his M.O. of getting some experience early for a lot of guys, even if it means risking an early-season loss. He did that last year, too, and it obviously paid off quite nicely.
Way to go, Ponies!
