#7 SMU Blanks Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 1-0, in Men's Soccer
Tulsa, Okla. - The seventh-ranked SMU men's soccer team pulled out a 1-0 victory over Wisconsin-Milwaukee Sunday afternoon in the final day of the Golden Hurricane Classic. SMU improves to 2-0 on the season while the Panthers fall to 0-2.
Like Friday's game against Wisconsin, it was freshman Leone Cruz who scored the game-winning goal in the 84th minute with 10-yard shot just to the right of center.
The game's statistics were one-sided, with SMU dominating the shot count (21-3).
SMU opens the home portion of the 2006 season Friday with the SMU Radisson Invitational. This year's participating teams include FIU, Cincinnati, and Cal. Friday's games features FIU vs. Cal (5:00 p.m.) followed by SMU vs. Cincinnati at 7:30 p.m. The games will be played at the UT-Dallas Stadium Field in Richardson.
