Soccer America magazine ranks SMU # 1 in its weekly rankings. The coaches poll has not been released yet.

I'm kind of surprised that we're listed ahead of a terrific Virginia team, but I'll take it.

Hopefully, the more valid NSCAA poll will show the same thing. Way to go, Ponies!

While I concede that the coaches poll is a highly valid poll, the Soccer America poll is also highly respected especially in soccer circles. After all it has been the primary American soccer magazine for over 25 years. It also gives the Mustangs a much higher degree of favorable national exposure to the everyday soccer fan than the coaches poll.

The Washington Post publishes the Soccer America poll not the coaches poll. Ever wonder how we got twins from Baltimore?

I believe that SMU is also #1 in the Soccer Times poll as well. Congratulations to the team.
