Olivia O'Rear scores tying, go-ahead goals

Oxford, Miss. - The SMU women's soccer team scored three times in the second half to overtake Ole Miss Friday evening by the score of 3-2 in Oxford, Miss. With the win, SMU improves to 4-2-1 while the Lady Rebels drop to 3-4 on the season.

In the first half, Ole Miss' Brittany Potts scored from eight yards out at the 24:05 mark, giving the Lady Rebels a 1-0 lead. In the second half, SMU found itself down, 2-0, in the 48th minute as Hannah Weatherly scored from close range. But SMU answered with a goal of its own 20 seconds later as junior Krystal Bailey booted a shot into the net off a defender block. Nearly three minutes later, SMU's Olivia O'Rear scored her first goal of the season with a 10-yard diagonal shot, knotting the game at 2-2. O'Rear would strike again at the 57:37 mark, dribbling around GK Ann Shelton and scoring the eventual game winner.

SMU's next game is set for Sunday, Sept. 17 with a contest at Mississippi State (1-5-0). Game time is set for 12:00 p.m.
