Jones Named C-USA Golfer Of The Week Again
Junior Wins Third Career Honor

DALLAS (C-USA/SMU) - SMU junior Lacey Jones was named the Conference USA Women's Golfer of the Week for her tournament play through Oct. 31, the league announced today.

The Idabel, Okla., native claimed her first win of the season, winning the Kent Youel Invitational at the 6,139-yard, par 72 Kapolei Golf Course in Hawaii. Jones fired a 3-over 219 for three rounds and bettered the field by three strokes. As a team, SMU tied for third place in the 18-team field at 913, just eight strokes back of team victor San Francisco. Jones fired rounds of 70, 74 and 75 to win the event.

It marks the third time in her career that Jones has won the honor, as she was also recognized on Oct. 18 and once last season.

Up next for SMU is a match-up with Vanderbilt at the 2006 Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championship for Women, which will be held Nov. 3-5 at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Fla.
