You're right. Winning 4 games ON THE ROAD in the NCAA Tournament to get to the College Cup just happened to be a miracle of God. I'm so glad those teams just laid down for us because they surely didn't want to go.

What is up with the alarmist-type of post? Whatever happens tonight happens.

Unfrikin' believable!!! How does this keep happening to this team? They do so well in the regular season, and then get upset by some spare team? I am not a huge soccer fan, but I am a huge Mustang fan, and this was our chance to do something!!!

What's worse is UCSB lost 7 games during the season and this was a HOME game. Ouch.

That's the danger of a team with a bye playing a team that has already played a game. They are fresh and have a little momentum. We've been sitting around playing simulated games but don't have the intensity of playing in a competitive enviroment.

You see it all the time in the college basketball conference postseason tournaments.

Totally pathetic. I've only been to one other game this year, we should have lost 5-1...amazing saves by our keeper. Completely outplayed in every facet of the game. This team wasn't ready and the Gueros were much quicker to the ball and crisp passes.

Reminds me of the St. Johns loss a few years ago, high hopes and DONE.

Schellas going to go to FC Dallas?

Well that TOTALLY blew. Good season guys and as the SMU broken-record saying goes, "better luck next year."

I hope he goes to FC Dallas! Time for a new coach Im tired of hearing how great he is supposed to be. It doesnt what your rank is in the NCAA Soccer tournament. Can't win when it matters!!!

Welll.. let's not get carried away now. He's a PREMIER coach. In any other sport, we'd be THRILLED just MAKING it to the postseason.

Considering the absolute lack of support for Soccer both from the students and the adminstrators, we lose Schellas we are not getting another premier coach in here for a long time.

Last year we were unseeded right? That was a nice run for sure.

The Gueros might do ok, they are a good team - surprised they lost 7 times this year...

We're suddenly the Indianapolis Colts of soccer. Dominant regular season play only to get sent home w/ tails between our legs in the postseason (even w/ homefield advantage).

This loss really bugs me. The difference between good teams and great teams is that great teams beat the teams they are supposed to beat. An early tournament game, seeded to our advantage, at home is a game we should win.

I'm left to wonder how the team can come out and just get doused like that...
