Former SMU Track & Field Coach Ted McLaughlin

Ted McLaughlin , who began his track coaching career at Hope High in 1964, was recently inducted into the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
McLaughlin went on to become the head track & field coach at Southern Methodist University. He won three national NCAA titles at SMU in the 1980s. In his nine years at SMU from 1979 to 1988, McLaughlin coached 23 NCAA individual champions and three Olympic athletes.
