For all you Lacrosse Fans, it looks like this year's team is very strong. Here is an open letter from the Coach Tom Greene. Go Mustangs LAX! ("fasting game on two feet) :D

(2/8/07) Edition 2: Part I of II

Dear SMU Lacrosse Supporters,

Wow! What a season it's been so far here at SMU. Victories over LSA
North Division rivals Baylor, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma have catapulted
us to the #1 ranking in the conference and our first 3-0 start since
my freshman campaign in 2003. Even www.laxpower.com, one of the
premier lacrosse ranking systems in operation, has us rated #1 in the
country! That may be a bit of a stretch for now because more than
half of the teams in the MCLA don't have the warm weather that we are
afforded in Texas and haven't started playing games yet. However, I
am confident that if we continue at our current pace, we just might
find ourselves in the Top 25 when the first in-season poll is released
on Wednesday, February 28th.

In my opinion, one of the best parts about being 3-0 is having done it
away from the Hilltop. Driving six hours across the state to Lubbock
and coming away with two W's off a double-header is a testament to the
hard work our players have put into lacrosse from the beginning of the
school year back in August. I told the guys all week that talent and
outcome aside, Texas Tech was the one team that has played us the
hardest over the last few years. The last three meetings had been
decided by two goals or less with SMU being on the winning side only
once.

Texas Tech plays a very physical style of lacrosse with their strength
in years past coming from their goalie, defense, and attack.

Physical play absolutely dominated the first half of play. Big hits
by both teams left opposing players shaken and slow walking off the
field. I love the physical aspect of lacrosse when it's legal.

Coming out of halftime, we were up 8-4 and never really looked back.
When all was said and done, SMU was victorious over Texas Tech 14-10.

On Feb. 10th, Mustangs LAX beat Rice 9-2 and are now 4-0. This weekend, the Longhorns come to the hilltop.

If you have never seen a game, treat yourself and came and watch it.
