SMU Recruiting for Men's soccer assistant coach

Ran across this ad. Anyone know if this is for an additional assistant or if we lost one of the current assistants?



Assistant Coach, College Men

Southern Methodist University
Assistant Coach 1 (Reference #675). Salary commensurate with experience. This assistant coach men's soccer reports directly to the head coach. DESCRIPTION: Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: coaching goalkeepers, as well as all aspects of teaching, coaching, evaluating, and working with student-athletes in the sport of soccer; completing day-to-day administrative tasks required by the NCAA and University; responsible for the recruitment of student-athletes that are consistent with the mission and goals set forth by both the head men's soccer coach and the university; assisting with camps and clinics; community service and public relations programs for the men's soccer program or department; and other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor's degree is required. A minimum of two years coaching experience is required, preferably collegiate level soccer coaching experience or higher. Candidates must demonstrate strong oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills, Must also possess strong organizational skills. Knowledge of NCAA and Conference rules is essential. Division I experience is highly desirable. Knowledge of college soccer recruiting is strongly preferred. APPLY: Priority consideration will be given to submissions received by May 4, 2007. Would that position (coaching goalies) be shared between the men's and women's programs?

No, the women have already got a new goalkeeper coach who will not be coaching the guys.

They should look at former SMU player Erick Foss who coached at UCSB for the 2006 season.
