Steve Sandbo Named to US Under 20 squad

Steve has been named one of three GK to the Under 20 national team that will play in the 2007 under 20 world cup. UCLA had 3 players and Harvard, Wake Forest, Indiana also had 1 player selected.

I would be surprised if he sees any playing time. However, the practice time with the top players in his age group, most of whom are pros, should bode well for his senior year at SMU.

surprising that a kid that doesnt even start for his college can make a u20 national team.

Don't believe his failure to start last year was due to a lack of talent. He was a victim of injuries and circumstance. He also has a history of national team play, which played a role in his selection.
