The SMU men's soccer team was supposed to start the spring season with an exhibition game against Richland College late Feb. or early March. Does anyone know what the score was and how the team is doing this spring? There are no updates on the SMU web-site. Thanks for any info.

GO PONIES!!!

We beat Richland (2-1, I think), playing a lot of freshmen and guys who didn't get much (if any) playing time during the season.

Apparently the new guys look pretty good. I've been told Josue Soto is a very creative player who seems to have a nose for the goal, Tate McMullen is absurdly fast - maybe even faster than Dane Saintus, and Basile Riboud is proving to be pretty versatile - one teammate said he thinks Riboud could end up playing any of a number of positions, and that all three should contribute in the fall.

does not answer the question of why the spring schedule is kept a secret.

Secret Service ordered that it be kept secret since the Bush Library site is visible from the soccer field.

Spring games traditionally are very fluid. Maybe it's not announced because those games change all the time, and this way they don't have to announce a game, then a cancellation, then a postponement, etc.

I'd say call the soccer office and ask if there's a coach there who can at least point you in the right direction.
