SMU's Lesniak and Malyarchikova Advance to the Round of 16 at NCAA Doubles Championship

C-USA's Top Doubles Tandem Downs No. 17 Pair From LSU

IRVING, Texas – The 32nd-ranked duo of Marta Lesniak and Aleksandra Malyarchikova of SMU downed the No. 17 pair of Megan Falcon and Mykala Hedberg of LSU, 6-2, 6-4, in the opening round of the 2009 NCAA Women’s Tennis Doubles Championship on Thursday night at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center on the campus of Texas A&M. With the win, the freshmen improved to a perfect 16-0 this spring and downed their fourth ranked opponent of the season.

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

good win over a team that has been ranked high all the time. Both Stanford and SMU beat Baylor @ number 1 doubles so it should be a great match on Friday afternoon. Go to the A&M web site to find times and click on this match to watch and listen live. Mustangs played their best net game of the spring and refused to fold when behind in games.

They lost. The team that beat them made it all the way to the finals before they lost also.
