"We are thrilled to add these very accomplished riders to our roster," SMU head coach Haley Schoolfield said. "Each of these student athletes will add depth, knowledge and experience to our team. We look forward to welcoming them to the Hilltop in August of 2011."

A multi-sport athlete from Ann Arbor, Mich., Hindle has placed in High Junior Jumpers in events across the country. In an impressive performance, Hindle placed 13th during the Grand Prix of Circle City. Also a talented hockey player, Hindle was the leading scorer in the National Hockey Tournament.

Osier, one of the top junior jumper ribbons with Tenfold, earned fifth place in Zone 1 of the Maclay Regionals. A dual-sport athlete, Osier was named a national finalist of the Emerging Athletes Program and competed on the varsity tennis team at Tabor Academy.

Roberts, who attends Lamar High School in Houston, Texas, has qualified for the USEF and ASPCA Finals during her career. Along with earning an Alamo Cup Co-Championship, Roberts received the 2009 THJA Junior Medalist Finalist Winner.

Osteen, a rider from John Carroll High School in Vero Beach, Fla., has earned several awards during her career. The 2009 Justin Rookie of the Year award recipient, Osteen has also been named World Champion at the 2009 American Quarter Horse Youth Association World Show and Congress Champion at the 2009 All-American Quarter Horse Congress. Additionally, Osteen has a 4.398 grade point average and plays on the varsity lacrosse team.

This is great news! Hopefully these athletes will be able to help us. So far this season, we are 0-6, so there is definitely some room for improvement.

So far, it looks like we are pretty strong at equitation over fences, but struggling in other disciplines. Hopefully these new athletes and the continued growth and experience of the current team will help the Mustangs get better.
