Arthur Ivo Named Second-Team All-America

DALLAS (SMU) - SMU men's soccer player Arthur Ivo was named to the 2010 NSCAA/Performance Subaru Men's NCAA Division I All-America Second Team. The junior helped the Mustangs advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals this season, tallying a 16-2-2 record on the year.

Ivo led the Mustangs with 25 points in 20 games. The Hermann Trophy semifinalist tied for the team lead in goals (10) and recorded two game-winners. Ivo's biggest goal of the season kept SMU's season alive as he scored the game-tying goal with 15 seconds remaining in regulation against No. 17 Creighton in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Following two scoreless overtime periods, Ivo then converted the Mustangs' fifth shootout attempt to advance SMU 5-3 on penalty kicks.

Last week, Ivo was one of two Mustangs selected to the 2010 NSCAA All-Midwest Region First Team. Ivo was also named the Conference USA Co-MVP and Co-Offensive Player of the Year, and received numerous weekly awards including the NSCAA's National Player of the Week Oct. 18-24.
