Unfortunately there isn't any other good news - In second set action Malyarchikova is down 2-0, Steinbauer is down 4-0, and Turpin is down 3-0.

Not looking good for the Ponies - but it's not over yet!

Lesniak drops her tiebreak 7-4.

What a shame, she showed so much heart fighting for that set too...

Lesniak had her chances to go up 3-0 - but gets broken on 30. Returning at 2-1 now.

Baylor wins. Looks like they called it at 4-0 Baylor (which makes sense since the winners have to play the next two or three days...)

Too bad SMU couldn't have taken a match or two along the way to make it competitive or at least to push Baylor to the sixth or seventh match.

Anyway, what a great season for the women's tennis team. Congratulations to the whole team and to Coach Meisner.

Things are certainly set up for a big next year with no seniors on the team this year. It should be fun...

Go Ponies!

Thanks so much for following along and starting this thread. The support and enthusiasm does not go unnoticed! For those of us close to the program, the comments on here and the support meams a lot. Coach Meisner is building a strong program and with is, she hopes a strong and enthusiastic fan base. We have seen it at road matches and know the same thing cab happen at SMU.

As far as the match on Friday, coach said it best with her post match comments. Baylor was just too good. While our girls didn't play as well as they did last weekend, I'm not sure their 'A' game would have made a difference. BU was just locked in.

We are now at the level where we can compete with them each season, I fully believe we will beat them very soon.

Thanks again for the support and kinds words. We hope to see you all at matches in the future!
