Seven former SMU swimmers, including 11-year cancer survivor Leif Wennerstrom and 1996 Olympic gold medalist Ryan Berube, will be among a throng of swimmers who take to the water at Lake Ray Hubbard at 9 a.m., Saturday, June 11 as part of an open water swim organized by Swim Across America — a foundation dedicated to raising money and awareness for cancer research. The swimmers are among countless volunteers who are dedicating their time, money and energy to this important event to help battle this horrific disease. Please read their story and help out in any way you can.

Enjoy (and donate, volunteer and spread the word)!

This is a really great effort by these Mustangs.

Congratulations to all of you, and as one who has had cancer affect my family, thank you.

In light of the loss Mustang Nation suffered last week, the timing of this event is ironically appropriate.
Three cheers to the Mustang swimmers.
