It looks like the polls are pretty consistent starting the Mustangs in the Top 5 going into the 2011 season.

Other rankings of note - UCLA is No. 6, William and Mary is No. 13, South Carolina is No. 15, Dartmouth is No. 20, and Duke is No. 23.
Central Florida and Tulsa are among the others receiving votes.

Hey ponyscott- I'm here. Glad to see we are finally starting to get back to the level SH consistently had us at. How many years did it take? 4-5-6?
Let's see where we end up when the 'big dance' is finished at the end of the year to see how good this team is.

At least there is great news with the UNMNT. Finally a coach who can build a winner :)

GO PONIES!!!

4-5-6 years? Try two. Last year was McClements' third season and the team advanced to the Elite 8, went 16-2-2 and won the C-USA regular season title. Anytime a team changes coaches after such a long period of time, you have to expect an adjustment period. Some of the team's top players from 2007 left with Schellas when he moved to FC Dallas. How was that not supposed to hurt the team?

Since you have only been on the site for less than a year, you're forgiven for not knowing, but ... don't let factual accuracy get in the way of a good rant. There are some who go out of their way to bash our coaches, either because they didn't get the coaching jobs themselves, or their favorite candidate/brother/dad/daughter/whatever didn't get hired. The anti-McClements crowd was awkwardly silent last year, because there was no bashing that could be done.

But be ready. SMU has what looks like an absolutely brutal schedule this year. If we stumble at all, the "fire the coach" crowd will be squawking again.

Three to be exact. Just a matter of getting the players used to his style and weed out some folks that were a drag on the system. Now everyone is on the same page and no matter how good the player, ego's are being checked at the door and everyone is playing for the name on the front of the shirt first. Btw early reports from camp say that this is proabably the best team we will see in the past 6 years.

Sorry but it must be the time difference in Peru...its only the third year. Let them play the schedule and raise the awareness and see what happens.
You still have the attitude from two years ago....lighten up and notice the good positive momentum.
