M-Soccer: Adam Still Named Lowe's Senior CLASS Award Candidate
Senior captain is one of 30 men selected

Aug. 17, 2011

OVERLAND PARK, Kansas (SMU) - SMU's Adam Still is one of 30 men's soccer players named as a candidate for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence - community, classroom, character and competition.

Still is the captain of the 2011 Mustangs who are ranked No. 5 in the nation to start the season.

The defender helped lead the Mustangs to a 16-2-2 record and an NCAA Elite Eight appearance in 2010. Still started all 20 games for the Mustangs and played 1808 of a possible 1880 minutes on the season. He scored his first career goal on a 75-yard shot against No. 17 Tulsa on Oct. 20, helping SMU to a 3-2 win. During his career on the Hilltop, Still has appeared in 48 games for the Mustangs, tallying a goal and two assists.

In addition to his play on the field, Still is an exceptional student athlete, receiving numerous academic honors. In 2010, Still was named to the CoSIDA ESPN Academic All-America Third Team. Still is a two-time Academic All-America District VI Team award recipient. He has also been named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team.

The 30 candidate class will be narrowed to 10 finalists midway through the regular season, and those 10 names will be placed on the official ballot. Ballots will be distributed through a nationwide voting system to media, coaches and fans, who will select one male candidate and one female candidate who best exemplify excellence in the four Cs of community, classroom, character and competition.
