Equestrian exhibition Friday at Baylor

Postby DanFreibergerForHeisman » Tue Sep 06, 2011 8:31 pm

It's that time of the year again - Equestrian season!

SMU has an exhibition in Waco against Baylor at noon this Friday. It will be very interesting to see who Coach Schoolfield selects to ride.

I can't wait to see how we do. Obviously, it is just an exhibition, but with the season opening meet just two weeks later at home against TCU it would be great to see our riders post some good scores against a good program like Baylor.

Remember, in our February 19 meet at Baylor last season we lost 5-2, but scored more points than they did (564-561).

When we faced them at home on March 26 we lost 6-3 but were still very close on total points once again, with Baylor only outscoring SMU 726-721.

This program is definitely close to breaking through. Hopefully we will get off to a promising start Friday!

No updates obviously since there aren't gametrackers or anything for equestrian. Hopefully some information will appear on the SMU or Baylor website at some point.

Baylor won 7-5 today.

SMU scored more total points 869-866 which shows how even things really were. It is great to see SMU pick up three points on the flat!

Also, Renick Townsend was MVP over fences with a nice score of 84.

The season starts in two weeks at home against TCU.
