I was wondering if the "death penalty" SMU received in football help kill off SMU's baseball program?

Yep, your right. Looked it up and was given last rights in 1980. For some reason, I thought it was killed after the "death penalty." Would love to see SMU bring it back, but I guess it would cost to much $$$$.

wasn't it Title IX that killed baseball or was it just fiscal responsibility and the overpriced land SMU sits on?

Played some high school playoff games at reverchon against some of the Dallas schools. I saw some pretty strange things going on not to mention I was sexually harassed through the fence throughout the whole game while I was out in left field by myself.
