Regulation stats are ridiculous and shine a major light on the second half tactics of SMU.

Shots: SMU 9, Memphis 28 (!!!!!!! WTF !!!!!!!)
Shots on goal: SMU 7, Memphis 10
Corners: SMU 5, Memphis 8
Fouls: SMU 11, Memphis 7
Yellow Cards: SMU 1, Memphis 0

Scovill sends one just wide after a nice feed from Redman...

5 left in the first OT.

Heading to OT 2. Looks like another liquid dinner for DFFH tonight...

Honestly, any realistic SMU fan would have taken a point tonight - and even given the way the events of the evening have transpired we can not lose sight of the big picture.

10 more minutes!

Looked like Eidson with a HUGE break up of a Memphis attack early in OT2.

3-3 final.

I'm sure the girls will be absolutely gutted about losing the 2-0 lead in the span of 6 minutes - but I hope reason prevails and they are able to take pride in picking up a point on the road against a top 10 opponent. Plus, you can't dismiss the fact we just put the first blemish on the record of Memphis.

This draw certainly moves us up into the position to claim the 3rd spot in C-USA and possibly even higher depending on what happens when Memphis plays UCF.

Obviously, tonight is bittersweet - but overall I think we should all be very happy with tonight.

For a somewhat under-the-radar transfer Amelia Ambrose now might have the two biggest goals of the SMU season!!!!!!!

Final stats:

Shots: SMU 10, Memphis 31
Shots on goal: SMU 8, Memphis 11
Corners: SMU 5, Memphis 9
Fouls: SMU 11, Memphis 8
Yellow Cards: SMU 1, Memphis 0

On to UAB Sunday. We absolutely can not lose focus now. It is right there for us...

Ambrose goal was unassisted as well - so the SMU goals were:

Elliott 25', Gaines 38', Ambrose 88'.

Wow - Marshall played to a 0-0 draw against UCF and Colorado College beat Rice 1-0! CC is certainly shaping up to be the surprise team in C-USA this year.

UTEP also drilled Houston. If we can take care of business against Colorado College and UTEP we will be in great shape!

It's nice to be ahead of Rice in points even though they beat us and with both of our Memphis games out of the way. Rice still has UCF as well.

SMU is up to 4th in C-USA! Now we just have to win the remaining games we should win - starting Sunday!

Maybe the national polls will finally start dropping UCF after their result tonight.

The C-USA standings are now:

1. 4-0-1 13 Memphis
1. 4-0-1 13 Colorado College
3. 4-1-0 12 UTEP
4. 3-1-1 10 SMU
5. 3-2-0 9 Rice
6. 2-1-2 8 UCF
7. 2-2-1 7 Tulsa
8. 1-3-0 3 East Carolina
9. 1-4-0 3 Houston
10. 0-3-2 2 Marshall
11. 0-3-1 1 UAB
12. 0-4-1 1 Southern Miss

Final thoughts.

Webb, Eidson, Cox, Baum, and Smith all play 110 minutes tonight. Hartweck plays 101 minutes. Nice to see Lewis be able to play 32.

Obviously, a lot players played a lot of minutes tonight. Hopefully the extra energy expended against Memphis will not affect us Sunday.

Scovill leads the team with 3 shots. Redman, Elliott, and Scovill all put 2 shots on goal.

It was refreshing to see SMU go for this one - that shows a lot about this team. It honestly would not have been surprising to see SMU keep 10 or 11 behind the ball and play for 0-0. It is also really nice to see SMU score three goals against somebody other than Prairie View.

Thank you Amelia Ambrose for stepping up once again when it looked like all hope was lost. Her goal really was nice tonight. It was almost like the goal against SFA where out of nowhere she just appears on the ball with a ton of energy and puts one in the corner of the net.

All that matters now is picking up three points against UAB on Sunday. Go Ponies!
