The No. 9 SMU Mustangs (5-2) take on the West Texas A&M Buffaloes (0-1) in a Hunter Seat competition Sunday at BuckBranch Farm.

In their only meet this season, the Buffaloes lost 15-2 at New Mexico State. On that day, NMSU defeated West Texas A&M 8-1 in the equitation events.

West Texas A&M does have a meet in Fort Worth against TCU on Saturday, so by Sunday there should be a little more information available on them.

SMU is off to a fantastic start this season, with great performances from Julianna Fischer, Emma Roberts, All-American Jordyn Pettersen, Renick Townsend, Greer Hindle, Courtney Line, Claire Wenholz, Emily Gardner, Molly Osier, Mallory Olson, and Lauren Hogan so far.

There isn't a match between our horses even listed on the West T&M website. Something tells me it didn't happen.

I assume it was a last-minute thing they added since WT A&M was at TCU on Saturday.

They are Division II, so they really aren't covered by the Varsity Equestrian website. TCU absolutely destroyed them. I imagine we did the same. It's probably not a high priority since it might not technically be a "real" meet since they aren't Division I. I don't think the stats for the riders or the W/L on our record really count.

The equestrian updates from SMU have been better this year than they have ever been, so this one is certainly perplexing.

Anyway, we are at Baylor tomorrow so there should be no problem knowing what happens.

Somehow we apparently lost to WTAMU 7-3 - I imagine that is why they kept it quiet.
