Fantastic! 2-0 final (with FOUR crossbars/posts in the second half!)

NCAA bracket is released Monday at 3:30. I would imagine we will have a bye which means we should hopefully have a home game next Sunday.

Way to go SMU!

Now this is the Pony squad I've been waiting all year for. Great job today. If they play with this kind of confidence the rest of the way, no one can stop them.

Not an expert by any means, but after watching the team this year I feel like they'll be one of those dangerous high seeds that punish people.

Just imagine when we can put Castillo back into the mix as well.

Physical teams can still give us problems, but if we get a decent draw and play like we did today it should be a nice tournament for SMU.

This group is going to stretch teams to their limits. The only way to slow the attack down is play some type of 4-5-1 and clog up the midfield, or play over the top and hope for a defensive breakdown. No one that I've seen this weekend, other than Creighton, is going to out possess them. The back four and Ibarra finally look settled, so there shouldn't be that many scoring chances to be had.

what type of seed will SMU get?

I know in the past we have gotten bullied around by bigger and stronger teams. Can we evenly match most of these teams in the tourney?

I would think we get a 3 or 4 seed, considering our RPI was 12 before the three big wins this weekend and we won the conference tournament.

Topdrawer's latest tournament projection from this morning has SMU at No. 11 - which would translate to a 3 seed.

They also named Diogo de Almeida to their Team Of The Week.

We should be much better prepared to face physical teams this season. We see a lot of it in C-USA, and with the non-conference schedule we played there shouldn't be anything in the tournament that will surprise us.

The awards for this week keep coming in - Arthur Ivo has been named the College Soccer News National Player Of The Week.

Don't forget the selection show will be online at 3:30pm today.
