DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU women's swimming and diving team is ranked No. 13 in the country by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).

The Mustangs are 5-1 in dual meets this year. SMU opened the season by defeating Rice, 156-106, on Oct. 15 in Houston. The Mustangs also downed Wyoming (74-39) and North Texas (69-44) in a double dual meet on Nov. 4 at Perkins Natatorium. SMU suffered its only loss of the season at No. 6 Texas A&M on Jan. 12, but the Mustangs have rebounded with big wins against rivals Houston (155-143 on Jan. 21) and TCU (135-105 on Jan. 25).

It's great to see the SMU swimming teams getting some national recognition in the rankings.

While SMU has had some borderline historic individual athletic successes over the past couple of years, the team sports have been pretty absent in the rankings other than the men's soccer and equestrian teams.
