Women's swimming/diving: Konicke, Vavourakis honored

IRVING, Texas - SMU senior swimmers Genny Konicke and Emily Vavourakis were named to the 2012 Conference USA All-Academic Team on Wednesday.
Konicke, a C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll member with a 3.565 GPA in biological sciences, has posted NCAA "B" qualification times in four events - 50- and 100-free, 100-back and 100-fly -- and boasts one of the top two C-USA times in each event.
Vavourakis, an environmental engineering major with a 3.799 GPA, is an Academic Medalist and a three-time Honor Roll selection. She is a member of the 200- and 400-yard freestyle relay teams that have met the NCAA "B" standard.
The Mustangs are currently in Houston as they compete in the Conference USA Championships Feb. 15-18.
