Emma Roberts has been selected to represent SMU in the second annual Pin Oak Collegiate Challenge, which will be held March 25 at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center in Katy, TX.

Roberts has just completed a stellar freshman regular season, with a 10-0 record over fences including 3 MVPs, as well as a 2-1 record on the flat with 1 MVP.

Good luck, Emma!

Is that a good draw for her?

I would think so. Goodall is 2-2 this year with 0 MVPs and an Adjusted VERS of 79.50.

Roberts looks like the strongest rider in the competition. The stats of the other NCEA riders (the LSU and Rice riders are not NCEA):

Chaffee (8-4, 2 MVPs, 94.00)
Berfield (4-4, 0, 73.78)
Fergusson (8-5, 0, 81.38)
Elsbernd (6-9, 2, 79.50)

Goodall did ride when we faced South Dakota State a couple of weeks ago - although she wasn't matched against Roberts. For reference they both won their point. Roberts scored an 83 and Goodall scored an 81.

Two other notes:

- SMU is the defending champion of this event having won the inaugural competition last year. Emily Gardner was our representative in 2011.

- Emma Roberts is from Houston so this event will be a sort of homecoming for her.
