SMU Lacrosse comes up short in Colorado

Postby SMULaxer » Sun Mar 25, 2012 5:45 pm

SMU Men's Lacrosse took off for Colorado last weekend to play #1 ranked Colorado State and #4 ranked Cal Poly.

On Friday night Cal Poly upset Colorado State 9-8 in Overtime

On Saturday SMU fell to Cal Poly 14 - 1

Today, SMU fell to Colorado State 20 - 2.

In spite of the results, I would still consider this a victory for SMU. The top tier teams do not agree to play anyone willing to travel to them. They will only play legitimate, well organized, and solid programs. SMU Lacrosse is well on its way to being a permanent top 25 team with the help of scheduling the top teams in the country.

Congratulations Ponies. Baylor, UNT and TCU don't know whats coming. Lets win out.

Worth noting that if SMU wins out they'll likely have a showdown with #6 Texas in the LSA championship game in a rematch of last year's conference championship for the Automatic Qualifier to the National Tournament.

SMU with a 13-4 win over Baylor in Waco last night. 4 goals surrendered to the highest scoring offense in the LSA. Well done Ponies. Next up, a battle in Denton.
