Men's Soccer - Spring Game vs. New Mexico

Postby DanFreibergerForHeisman » Fri Apr 13, 2012 9:17 pm

SMU plays their only home spring game against a college program Saturday against New Mexico at Westcott Field.

The Lobos are coming off a year where they went to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament, and actually ended the season undefeated at 18-0-4 since they were eliminated in the tournament in penalties.

After facing FC Dallas at Westcott and the Houston Dynamo in their new soccer stadium, SMU continued the spring at Tulsa and at Trinity(TX).

New Mexico won 2-1 in overtime.

There is a biased press release on the UNM site:

Two MLS teams and a Sweet 16 team? Isn't the spring supposed to be an exhibition season?
We sure won't be intimidated by the Big East, or any other team on the schedule.
Thanks for the update, DanF.
