Mustangs GACK on Shoes at NCAA's

...as Johnny Miller would say, "nice choke job, fellas..." Some REALLY high scores on the final day, when it counted...after round one = 2nd..after round 2 = 2nd....final round, a spinkling of 75's, 76's, etc..finished 7th, 5 shots out of moving on to the big dance...sounds like they need to order that "golf mind" tape series...sigh.

Agreed last round was a tough one for the mustang golfers...but let's look at what they accomplished this year. Team set all time smu record for low scoring average and record for most team rounds under par. They moved up over 15 spots into the top 40 of the national rankings and They did this with the same team as last year, minus Kelly Kraft...one of top 5 amateurs in the world. The top 4 players from last years team lowered their scoring avg by 10 shots per rd, that's unheard of!! In addition, smu signed the #1 recruiting class for 2012, and have another stud for 2013... Yes bottom line this team overachieved, unfortunately they faltered the last day to miss NCAA finals...But expect big big things in the future for SMU men's golf!!
