2013 Class Adds Depth All Around For Mustangs

Feb. 11, 2013

DALLAS (SMU) - - The SMU Mustangs women's soccer team added four field players that will hope to quickly contribute to the team's 2013-14 efforts.

Taylor Barg, Taylor Jackson, Kelsey Gorney, and Madison Reisdorf will all join SMU for the 2013-14 campaign. The group is well-decorated at both the high school and club levels, and could immediately contribute to the Mustangs.

"We're excited by the addition of these talented players," Head Coach Chris Petrucelli stated. "We have to give credit to the previous coaching staff. We are glad the players stayed firm in their commitment to SMU and decided to join our team.

"The group as a whole makes our team better, and each individually will compete for playing time immediately."

Barg, Jackson and Gorney are teammates playing for the Dallas Texans club squad. Barg and Jackson have played together throughout high school at Plano West Senior High and have a friendship that dates back to the fifth grade. Definitely an exciting class with some potential! Glad to see all four are official.

The line "Petrucelli and the rest of the coaching staff anticipate additional commitments during the coming weeks" is intriguing. I guess we will wait and see.

Either way, I can't wait for August!

Go Ponies!
