Senior midfielder Diego Walsh scored twice to lead fourth-ranked SMU -- which was playing shorthanded after sophomore defender Ross Spencer was ejected -- to a 2-1, come-from-behind win at Creighton Sunday afternoon to give the Ponies their third straight Misourri Valley Conference title.
SMU hosts eight-seeded Evansville at 7:30 p.m. Friday night in the first round of the MVC Tournament at Westcott Field. The winners of the four first-round games will advance to the MVC Tournament semifinals the following weekend in St. Louis.
