Read an article today about Lincoln Property buying the Lakewood Shopping Center. It mentioned that Matt's is indeed closing for a MiCo early next year. Did some digging and found a D magazine article from late April. Oh well. Place will look better but the food definitely won't be that much of an upgrade.

Mextopia on Greenville has been our new favorite the past year. Best salsa in Dallas, great Pozole, nachos, tacos. Always fresh ingredients prepared well. Ricardo is a good dude as well.

Where on Greenville?

I think it's in that strip where Teppo and Zubar are. Funny I can't be sure about that since I drive past it twice a day. It opened about a year ago by Ricardo Avila after he and Mama Avila had that bitter break-up over Avila's on Maple.

Been there a couple of times and it's pretty good food, much like Avila's. But don't be fooled by that fake endorsement from Guy Fieri on the menu, he's never been to Mextopia best I can tell.

I've always liked the concept of Matt's more than the execution. Great location and atmosphere but subpar food IMO.

It is across the street from where the Arcadia theater use to be before it burned down...about a block south of Belmont. They sell Christmas trees there now every fall on the empty lot where the theater use to be.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

That was pretty sad when Arcadia burned down, though I haven't frequented that area in years. Does Arcardia Bar across the street still exist?

Nope, the plan for that area where the Arcadia used to be is to make it into some kind of food truck park with picnic tables. They've already started work on widening the street down there.
