AusTxPony, we joined the same year 22+ years ago.

Candidly, I never honestly thought during all that time we would advance to membership in the AAC. Incredible.

As I read all the angst on the website over the years, the expectations that SMU would escape our circumstance and history seemed either unrealistic or wishful thinking.

I thank our major donors for their investments in all of our sports and facilities, along with the Administration's persistence in the absence of a clear path to any P5 conference.

I am still on a high.

2002 for me. I guess I hung out on mustangmaniacs (I think that was what it was called) a little longer than AusTX and WaterPony.

I used to post on Mustang Maniacs after learning about it from a classmate (The Old Mustang) who passed away just before Ford Stadium opened. Obviously I enjoy this site as a source of information about SMU athletics and have come to know a few posters over the years after meeting up at tailgates. I moved away from Dallas in the late 80's and really appreciate this site as it helps me "get my fix" of SMU sports that I've otherwise lost after moving to SEC/ACC country. Can't tell you how excited I was to hear we are moving to the ACC which is now my back yard.

I joined three days after Charleston Pony! Moved toDallas in 2002 and have been a Cox MBA mentor since 2004. Now I have two kids who both attend SMU.

Merry Christmas! I was on MustangManiacs as mustangcc from Fall 2003 until it shut down around 2003 or so. After the winless 2003 season I was very disillusioned with SMU athletics and decided to step away from posting on these sites until I opened an account on this site. I changed my handle to mustangxc because someone after me became ccmustang and I didn't want confusion. I remember back in the day Stallion posted on MustangManiacs and he along with others called this the sunshine board and MM was considered the place for those more in tune with reality. The truth is we sucked at that time but as Coach Reinebold said, we're not where we want to be, we're not where we can be, but it sure is better than where we've been. Cheers to the AAC, the AAC football and basketball championships we've won, and the ACC and our resurgence!
